Fisheries Act

There's, you get together and you, you talk about what this might mean, and it, it brings communities together to say, you know, "We're not gonna let that happen." Uh, a- and, uh, the water issue, as you know, has been my issue for many, many years now, ever since I was sitting with the Kennedy US Free Trade Agreement in 1985 and I looked at the index, the annex at the end, and it's listed all of the, uh, goods that were going to be, um, subject to the new rules, which is basically governments go away and corporations are gonna look after it, and there was water in all its forms, including ice and snow, and I thought, "Hmm," and that sent me on this, this journey, right? We need to protect our water.

Uh, again, the Harper government dismantled the Fisheries Act and several other important acts.

We got them reinstated and even improved, uh, when, when the government changed hands.

We need to not undo that again, and that's my worry is that we're going to, in the haste to bring in this investment, uh, we're going to say, "Well, we'll just, just be a little while.
