I'm like pretending to sing home together with Dave Matthews.

Like what the fuck is going on right now? And it just felt so awkward and naked and just like, I mean, Fishman actually, like, when Fish just played their Five Nights, he went up to sing a song, and he was like, this is terrifying.

I'm just standing behind the drum set.

I was like, brother, I fucking hear you.

They were going to the University of Vermont in Burlington and Trey met Fishman on like move-in day because he heard a dude drumming and he went into his dorm room and just fell in love with the guy and was like, that's my guy, you know, and the two of them just like have this insane musical connection where they

are the part of Fish is Trey and Fishman.

Mike is amazing, and so is Paige.

But Mike joined them, like joined Paige and Trey at Burlington, University of Vermont.

It's still kind of a little bit daylights, dusk.

It's not quite dark yet.

I remember first thing I noticed that Fishman was up there.

He's got on like a muumuu.

Uh, and then honestly, uh, 2023 was incredible for me.

Uh, when San Diego state made it to the national championship game and, um, you know, I, I started with Steve Fisher in 1999 and then we used to sit in people's homes and we'd tell, uh, Steve would tell people like, you know, I think we can go to a final four.

That's my goal.

You know? And I think some people kind of looked at us like, Oh man, you're crazy for doing that.

And really, if I hadn't gone to Sac state, I wouldn't have made it to San Diego state.

The reason was, uh, my second year was during the lockout year.

And Steve Fisher was actually the assistant for, uh, Rick Adleman with the, uh, the Kings.

Uh, and, um, and they were off.

And when we did Oysterhead, we were all at Trey's Barn recording.

And John Fishman had this little shitty little Ludwig set that was scattered around, pieces everywhere, detritus flopping in the breeze.

Oh, I love a shitty Ludwig.

Stuart put it together and started drumming and sounded just like fucking Stuart Copeland.

They're doing like that, you know? And then when I moved out to Texas, when my mom sent me to Texas, I'm watching a video from the Red Hot Chili Pepp- I mean, from, yeah, Chili Peppers- And Fishbone, members of Fishbone are in the video.

And my, my good friends Zach and Donnie Blair- Mm-hmm ... gave me my first Fishbone cassette, gave it to me.

So at this time I'm being inundated with rock music, but people that look like me that are making it.

And Bad Brains with dreadlock rastas making a thick breakneck speed punk.

Oh, okay, okay.

And he started his own group called H.R., Human Rights.

And, uh, the members of Fishbone, the, the, well, the, the Fisher brothers, um, well, Norwood specifically, I believe he was the main person that organized this 50th anniversary celebration, and they, they put together a band called Living Fish Brains.
