Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition

Oh.

Uh, yes, uh, Zarya Quintet was the grand prize winners of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

This is the oldest chamber music competition in the United States.

This concert marks the third season where we feature their winners on our series, as well as in, uh, community outreach events throughout the season over a mini residency, with details to be announced.

Playing for a live Studio A audience today is Zarya, an exciting emerging ensemble originally formed at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.

They are also the recent grand prize winners of the 2026 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

Thanks so much for joining me today.

Let's start with some introductions.

You're listening to Studio A at Interlochen Public Radio.

We just heard Zarya playing the first movement from Mozart's Serenade in C Minor.

Now, you're the first woodwind quintet in nearly 30 years to win the highest honor at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.

That must have been pretty special.
