And we learned in our fire ecology episode with Dr. Gavin Jones and Indigenous fire ecology episode with Dr. Amy Christensen, wildfires across the country disproportionately impact indigenous communities.

And again, a reminder from the UN report, countries with greater historical responsibility for climate change should act the hardest and the fastest.

Countries disproportionately impacted by climate change must be part of the global decision-making process and action.

I spoke with this ologist while she was up in the wilderness of Canada on vacation, and the internet was spotty, so it's not the finest quality audio we've ever had on Ologies, but we did our best.

And then she sent some standalone recordings answering more questions, and then after the break, we're featuring excerpts from her own indigenous fire ecology podcast, Good Fire, with Matt Kristof, making this a real community effort and a fire mosaic episode indeed.

So this ologist got her master's and PhD in hazard management and fire science, and works as a fire social scientist for the Canadian Forest Service.

She is a Métis woman from Treaty 6 territory on land now known as Canada.

That's genius.

So yeah, I think that that's, those are things, you know, that, and there's probably so much more out there that we don't even know, um, that communities used and, and how they would use fire in a good way.
