Yep, he, oh, this is about Tim Burchett.

Tim Burchett was the mayor in Tennessee in Finding Bigfoot, and he was a special guest in the season finale of this on Skinwalker Ranch.

That's amazing.

and has narrated and produced documentaries including The Mothman of Point Pleasant, Boggy Creek Monster, The Bray Road Beast, and Terror in the Skies.

He also has appeared on programs including Finding Bigfoot, Strange Evidence, and Monsters and Mysteries in America.

And when he isn't investigating monsters, Lyle fronts the horror-infused rock band Ghoul Town.

Today, Joe talks with Lyle about a lifetime fascination with cryptids, the investigations behind the legends and what he's discovered over the years of searching for monsters in the real world.

And I wanted to know if from the movie to reality, after everyone you've talked to, are there any differences of what was portrayed on film versus what you consider to be

real? For the most part, what you see in the, in the old movie, which came out in 1972, kind of a precursor to what you might see on TV later with finding Bigfoot or them interviewing people and doing a react reenactment, you know, that movie did it first and, And they were interviewing real people.

And then sometimes those people are on screen, reenacting their encounter or talking about it.

So much so that the main character that we follow is actually making a...

Well, it would probably be quite popular nowadays, but a Finding Bigfoot-esque show where they're going through the rural countryside or villages of Japan pretending to be hunting Godzilla? And the thing is, when I saw that, I was like, oh wow, that's very...

That's very reminiscent of garbage TV that we have today in America.

That's depressing.

It's, you know, I only started getting into Bigfoot, really, when I met the ex-wife, but now it's a passion of mine.

I spent more on Gillette Venus razors during my 20 years with her than I did on the house or the car and I couldn't make it a taxable expense what I was gutted about and I've shared this on the show is that me and Gabriel, my 10 year old son if you're listening on one of the other shows are passionate about finding Bigfoot If you've not seen the show, it's where six people go out in forests and woods across the world wearing an assortment of metal with cameras sticking in their faces.

And they

hear wood knocks and they hear howls.

But it's beautifully made.

And I was gutted about a year ago where the Finding Bigfoot team actually came to the U.K., And where they were based is about two miles from where I'm sat now.

I was gutted.

I could have gone over.

You know, you're looking at the fifties, the sixties, the early seventies, and that goes back to the, the idea of there's the, the cold war things that were going on that we didn't, you know, that the government was keeping from us that was came, became prevalent in the, in the, in the 80s.

So I think that there's a lot of it has to do with the fact that at least in West Virginia, around here, when I was growing up, we had three television stations.

You know, at four, you got public broadcasting if you were lucky, if you get the weather just right.

So you had ABC, NBC, and CBS.

These hotspots are, a product of of local of of the culture of the i mean not with the exception of bigfoot okay so i um bigfoot is everywhere now

people love bigfoot we didn't

we didn't have bigfoot a lot of bigfoot stories when i was growing up um I remember one time on WSAZ television three out of, out of Huntington Charleston area, there was a, a single story, um, about Bigfoot in the local news when I, again, I was probably, I don't know, I think how memory is.

I was probably less than 10 years old, somewhere in there when that story aired.

And I think the people who make a living off of shooting like Bigfoot, like content for like whatever shows, like network.

Finding Bigfoot.

Right.

I think they're very protective of like, we shoot Bigfoot
