And then I just, I, I actually remember journaling in, I use this app Scrivener that I really love.

Uh, I used it for my first draft of screenwriting, and then I moved to Final Draft.

And I like it because it has this binder where you can just draft crappy thoughts and put a journal document and throw it over there, and I journaled every day about just stuff with being a mooch, 'cause I thought it was a funny concept.

And I was like, "Well, what could, like, a mooch do?" And then I started journaling, and I was like, "What are times where I've been a mooch?" Like, oh, I used to steal golf balls from the place I tried to be a caddy at, and I remember being, like, the oldest caddy there and never getting picked.

You know how it is.

There's always like three different things that are kind of like in various states of Final Draft V3, Final

Draft V5.

Is that how you name your stuff? Oh,

like the thing I care about most.

That's amazing.

And when you write your play, what are you writing the play in? Final Draft.

Oh, Final Draft has play mode.

Like, I was borrowing some from my first collection in Oka, although a lot of that got cut in the end.

But we were just kind of, like, going back and forth with Final Draft, which is a really good software for scripts.

And... we came together and made this play from scratch basically, just borrowing tiny elements from other things that we've done before.

And so, yeah, we made a, it's basically a road trip narrative.

And that's why these features that I make, Erupsia and the different ones, are all like 70 to 80 minutes long.

So when we finished writing the notes app note, I converted that into Final Draft, into screenplay format, and it was 71 pages long.

Can we talk about how final draft is going the way of subscriptions now?

No, really? Did you get it? Like if you buy it now, are you not going to have to pay for it in the future?

well so what they usually do is like from what i can tell like final draft does update you just have to pay for the upgrade but if you have the software you don't necessarily need to upgrade it and you buy it once you have it forever okay there's a software now that's involved and it's like uh it's like final draft cloud now and that's it's like

that's the subscription

yeah and if you get the cloud you also get final draft and like it could be less than like about 100 bucks a year give or take oh so theoretically if they have an update every year like premiere does like it would be cheaper question mark but then if you use it a lot you might as well buy it yeah and if you pay for it monthly you're gonna spend like probably like 240 bucks when you could just buy it for 200 or 250 bucks with whether or not it's on sale yeah wow but I found that out because I had because I'm not paying 200 bucks immediately to buy final draft right so I'm gonna I took the five day deal three days of the cloud or whatever yeah and I got final draft and I already started a beat board for this because I uh I'm interested in how difficult this is actually going to be.

And instinct really is telling me not difficult.

No, I don't think so.

That's going to be kind of like an interactive website kind of thing, isn't it?

Well, yeah, it's kind of a way for someone, you know, like, so in screenwriting, in TV and stuff, they've got, they use things like Final Draft.

They're very specialist bits of software that everyone uses.

That was something.

So writing, writing in general, the process of writing, the process of opening up Final Draft, looking at that blank page, having a story in your head, and just putting it down, that all came about when I was in the NFL.

Now, growing up, again, I was an artist growing up.

I would draw and paint, and I was the kid that would print out Dragon Ball Z pictures, put them in my backpack, and trade them like cards with my friends, and then Me and my friends in sixth, seventh, eighth grade, we're trading pictures with each other because we all said, let's get our work done fast so then we can start drawing these pictures in class.

to go see in a dark theater with my popcorn with my water and just like get lost you know and I kept that up for seven years every Tuesday every NFL off day I would see a new movie didn't matter runtime title like genre anything I just I had to go sit in a movie theater about two or three two or three years into it I was just like oh I think I might be able to like write some of the stuff I'm seeing because I found that I was breaking sort of story structure down in my head before I knew what it really was

right

so oh this is the end of act one oh now he's in this new world oh now she's at in the pits oh she's about to learn something new and she's going to have the big battle at the end So it just started with me reading books on story structure, downloading Final Draft, because I think Final Draft on my iPad was like $8, but Final Draft on my computer was like $180.

I'm in the NFL, but I'm like, I'm going to take the $8 option.

For sure

... and occasionally I like to fart around with, you know, open up Final Draft and Lord only knows if I'll ever sell a screenplay, but for me I enjoy the writing.

And to me it's always been kind of fun.

I guess some people j- like to journal or whatever, you know? For me it's like, it's, it's kinda cool.
