Fightstar

Alfie was quite young as well.

I'm sure there's a story of you guys going to, I want to say the Fightstar tour, and you picked him up on a Friday after school.

Yeah.

Yeah, that's how young he was.

Yeah, yeah.

Just the way it goes for it.

Right, so supporting Fightstar.

On this

Speaking of Busted, I recently...

So, you know, after Busted, Charlie from Busted started a rock band called Fightstar and then left that band.

I've now found out what Fightstar went on to do after that, and it's incredible.

Can I guess?

Is it Nazi stuff?

No, it's not Nazi stuff.

You know that band that I bang on about all the time as being my favourite band, Gunship, the synth wave? Yeah, that's them.

LAUGHTER shut the fuck up yeah Charlie from Busted guests on the third album wow and I didn't realise I saw the name Charlie and then didn't think about it any further and then because I don't know the surnames of all of Busted I'm sorry I just don't James Busted Charlie Busted and Matt Willis but yeah they're now my favourite they're now what in my opinion are one of the best fucking bands working to date which means I've seen them live because I have seen Fightstar because we went when they were on at Reading nice anyway Star Trek

You know, yeah, 3000 is a banger.

And then he formed Fight Star because Charlie was always way more of a metal guy.

It's why, assumedly, Busted had, you know, kind of crunchy guitars and they still had really driving rhythm to them because he was always wanting to do something a bit heavier.

Then he did Fight Star.

And, you know, I remember Paula Newick's laughter being incredibly heavy the first time I heard it.

And, you know, other people swear by Fight Star as well.

I never loved them, but I like obviously what they represent.

And I do like Charlie's voice as well.

Like, there's a comic relief character that's like a little goblin who, if you like ASMR, the way that he kind of touches cups and stuff, amazing.

just trust me um but the the horned king there's no there's nothing funny he's so serious and evil and rising this army is so serious and evil it is spooky as hell and that is definitely one of my favorites of all time just the film as well um Bilbo doing that little face in Lord of the Rings where he's like give me the ring when his face goes like all grey and stretched and he looks like the kid from the Fight Star music video where they're in the London Underground that was lost to time as well but yeah that is another great like horror bit in non-horror the ringwraiths you know the Nazgul that's all the shit I grew up on dark fantasy stuff so not quite unexpected i would say but definitely surprisingly intense ray harryhausen films are one of my biggest loves that i don't get to talk about loads as well um which is you know that he basically pioneered a type of animation called dynamation which is like claymation but a little bit more advanced and has a bit more juge to it If you watch, I think it's Clash of the Titans, there's an ending scene where he has to fight these skeletons.

And it took them three months to animate this whole sequence with all of these skeletons jumping up and fighting this real life actor.

Oh, and it's like it's just so incredibly done.
