So running roughly from the Pozières windmill, which is in British hands by this point, through Mouquet Farm, which is currently acting as the cork in the bottle for what the Allies originally had hoped to do, which is roll up Thiepval, the, the entire ridge from the flank, from the Roman road side, all the way along through Thiepval village, which of course sits atop the ridge, and then to the Schwaben Redoubt, which is about 300 yards beyond that.

This big all round defensive position that, uh, has been attacked on the 1st of July, partly taken on the 1st of July, and then has to be, uh, given up on the evening of the 1st of July.

So throughout the entire time, this area has, has been absolutely in the focus of, uh, of both sides and is gonna remain so.

You've got Mouquet Farm, which we talked about on the Pozières episode, which is to sort of the west, southwest of Thiepval.

A ruin itself, dense with barbed wire, shell holes and improvised trenches, connected actually to Thiepval through underground tunnels as well.
