Fievel Mousekewitz

Oh yeah, Fievel in the gutter once again.

One of the really nice touches is the fact that he calls him Philly, which makes sense because they do, this is something, so my dad was an immigrant and one of the things that I don't know if they do it anymore, but certainly back in, this was even in the 70s when he came over, they advertised their names.

But sometimes, it's not Chinese people do it, I've noticed.

They'll go, oh, which is really bad because they just assume people can't pronounce their names.

So they'll just go, okay, my name's Sharon.

Well, I believe there was some note in the script where they may have had a disagreement over calling him Fievel because they thought it was too foreign a name.

And I think that the fact he has the nickname of Philly was kind of the compromise that they could have their cake and eat it.

I mean, I think it's a smart move in many ways.
