Fescues

Just because if I have gone out to yards, it's a stressful time of year in the season of August is a stressful fescue month.

Okay.

Fescue looks, it's worse.

It's tired.

My son goes and does a lot of the reviews, looks at properties inspections.

This is the first two sentences of an email we sent to clients.

We sent this to like 700 clients yesterday.

Fall aeration and seating for our Fescue clients runs from September 14th through October 31st this year, weather permitting, and you're on the schedule.

I was reaching out to these clubs and these superintendents at these links properties I think in my first three or four months I went and toured, it was probably three or four different super, super fantastic Lynx championship golf courses.

And it wasn't, it was really to go and pick their brain about, you know, the different challenges that they saw managing Fescue.

Obviously, again, going from Parkland to Lynx, it was a whole change that I had to get my head around pretty quick.

But that's the network that you can reach out to once you keep developing it and You know, as I said, going back to the mentorship piece, people are super open.

Okay.

So basically now we've got a cow herd that they work really well on Fescue.

That's something that just is challenging around here is cows that will work on Fescue.

For the most part, they do a pretty good job.

They win a decent calf.

But some people will do that, yes.

Yeah, I think about Festuca Perfect Edging.

So there's a new fescue or Festuca called Perfect Edging by Proven Winners, and in the greenhouse this year, I bought a number of them, planted them.

I consider them absolutely low-maintenance and beautiful.

They're not selling them anymore.

Okay.

And then probably 15 to 20% is Fescue.

So we're kind of right on the transition.

So you have

So plan, plan, plan.

So what's the best type of fescue to apply? Fescue seed, we talked about that earlier.

There's a lot of them out there.

All the hybrids are really good right now.
