Ferlin Husky

That's a nice old-school tune there from a cat by the name of Simon Crum, also known in other circles as Furlan Husky.

He had kind of an alter ego.

Crazy voice.

It's like old stuff.

Like the grandmas and grandpas would know like Ferlin Husky, Ernest and Tubbs, or Tubbs and Scruggs and Flats.

And we're talking

when I say I play classic country, that song from 1960 is definitely a classic.

That was Ferlin Husky with his number one hit from 1960, Wings of a Dove.

Ferlin Husky was one of the pioneers of early country music and ruled our radios throughout the 1950s and 1960s.

Now there you go, another edition of Sweet Country Music in the Can, so to speak.

was one of the great, great Western singers back when country and Western actually were two different genres, okay, as I've talked about before.

But Ernest Tubb, again, back in 79, a good 25 years after he first recorded it, did a new version with a couple other country singers of great note, Ferlin Husky and Simon Crum.

So those are the only three that I'm aware of.

that were recorded and released of that fabulous song.
