Ferelden

How could this day get any worse?

Well, Tristan kind of wants to ask about the rest of the Howes in Ferelden.

Have they survived?

He just starts to go, what business is it of yours?

This kind of leads me into my next question, which is, what country would Dali be from in Thedas, and why?

I feel like, unless I'm missing another one, I feel like she would be from Ferelden, because it's really considered like the backwoods quote-unquote of thetis and like i mean she grew up in tennessee she's a uh she's southern as southern can get and like out of all the nations that we know about i feel like Like I said, unless I'm missing another one, I feel like Ferelden is the closest to what we know of as the South.

And they're almost all in the north of Ferelden.

Well, yeah, the south is just Redcliffe, I think.

That's really interesting, especially like...

if you're a Dwarven hero Ferelden, you're named a Paragon.

And so it makes me want the canon to be a castless dwarf is the hero Ferelden because that's just such a middle finger to all of, to all of Orzammar society.

And I love it.

And it just is the kind of storytelling I want.

And then obviously a dwarf hero, Ferelden.

Rook is probably the most boring Dragon Age protagonist.

The hero Ferelden has a great stack backstory going into the game, which allowed you to easily shape how you interacted with the world.

Hawk has had amazing personality, and the dialogue choices felt good no matter what you did, and she was hilarious.

Had a hand in everything leading up to the Mages' Rebellion in Kirkwall, and the Inquisitor was probably chosen by Andraste to lead the Inquisition, which had an amazing team.

Dragon Age Origins is a single-player role-playing game set in the world of Ferelden, one of several countries in the fictional world of Thedas.

You play as a character of any race, human, elven, or dwarven, and one of three classes, warrior, mage, or rogue.

You are recruited into the Grey Wardens and tasked with defeating the Archdemon and their invasion with the Darkspawn.

Many companions are met, and some will join your party as you navigate the many areas of Ferelden.

Early in the game, the player will meet Arl Winden Howe, an old friend of Teyrn Bryce Cousland and the Arl of Amaranthine.

As a human noble, you meet Rendon Howe at Castle Cusland in the opening scene.

Also, I would imagine that, like, I would wonder if, like, Ferelden is actually able to purchase lyrium or if it is distributed through the Orlesian Chantry.

that's fair and i think that that is just a point of like it's his way i feel like it's his way of like appeasing these lords in a point of like we're not going to compromise our our place to enter into relationship with this but we want to enter into this relationship

All right, so we also know that King Indran, he did feast and meet with and host King Merrick of Ferelden.

And that Indran gifted him a silver flask that was emblazoned with the sigil of House Eiducan.

Oh, I don't play Orlesian rules.

I play Ferelden.

Because

it is described, the way that it's interacted with in the universe is as a folk game.

feel like, one, we can't blame everything on the writing, but I feel like we can blame a lot of stuff on the writing.

That's probably them just kind of forgetting, but it's also not... really the forefront, to be fair, because in Inquisition, obviously you're trying not to die, but you're kind of focusing on trying to save Ferelden and Orlais, because that's the brunt of where most of the things are going on, at least where you are.

So, I mean, it makes sense to me, lore-wise.

They definitely should have commented on it, but mechanically.

do wonder if it would be a little bit more well-received if it was... a less centralized institution like if we got to see more of a difference between how the Chantry is in different countries like if we're going strictly on Orlais their version of the Chantry makes me ill because of how racist they are towards elves but I feel like Ferelden even though they do have elf racism it is society in general so I feel like their chantry would reflect that

Well, and it's really important to hear, and I think that this is where it kind of goes into, is that, like, in Orlais, like, the Chantry and the political landscape of Orlais are so much intertwined that it is in Ferelden.
