Fenrir

Mm-hmm.

And then Tyr, the one famous thing is that in the stories about Ragnarok, there's a prophecy that a giant wolf called Fenrir will kill and eat Odin.

And Tyr is like a brave and just either son or just fan of Odin.

And so he goes and binds Fenrir.

He has to sacrifice a hand to Fenrir to calm him down and make him accept binding.

Yeah.

So tears usually depicted being mighty and carrying a sword and also having just one hand.

And then he Odin because he was chained, even though he got a hand to eat, because it's similar to Greek mythology in that whole sort of like you trying to escape your fate is what causes the fate to happen in the first place sort of deal.

Here we can watch him and keep him from much, if not all the evil he would do.

And so the wolf, The Fenris Wolf, he was called, was brought into the home of the gods.

He was a dreadful creature to look upon.

His eyes were like balls of fire, and his fangs were white and sharp and cruel.

What is to be done with him? asked odin one day his face white with despair as he looked upon the wolf and realized what sorrow by and by he would bring among them kill him cried one send him to jotunheim cried another Chain him, thundered Thor, and indeed to chain him seemed really the only thing that could be done with him.

We will make the chains this night, said Thor, and at once the great forge was set in motion.

All night long Thor worked the forge, hammering with his mighty hammer the links that should make a chain to hold the Fenris wolf.

Morning came.

So let's talk about some mythologies with wolf creatures or deities.

And I think one of the most prominent ones is probably Fenrir from Norse mythology, who's a giant wolf, a child of Loki.

And Fenrir is at Ragnarok.

Whence will come the sun and that fair heaven when Fenrir has this devoured? Vaftrudnir: A daughter shall Afrodu bear ere Fenrir shall have swallowed her.

The maid shall ride when the powers die on her mother's course.
