FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Task Force

well normally jaggy and i are bright and cheery when we log on at five in the morning every day but today september 11 2024 is a very hard day especially the families of the 343 firefighters that lost their lives and almost 3 000 civilians there are many port authority police other police and other people that were helping that were killed.

I was assigned to our technical rescue unit almost 16 years, and some of our guys, many of our guys that were on FEMA Task Force 2 were up there, and some of the guys are really, really sick to this day.

So what you're going to hear the first two hours from the time the first plane struck the tower, and of course this isn't everything, but this is enough.

Here we go.

So they're, you know, th- they, they, uh, had that difficulty on both ends, and our incident management team managed that.

We sent our, our FEMA USAR team, uh, you know, uh, under the authority of the federal government, but we've sent them, you know, around the country, uh, out to, uh, out to Puerto Rico.

Uh, uh, and then they were at one of the other, uh, international, uh, and I'm forgetting where right now, but one of the other earthquakes a- as well.

Mm-hmm.
