RSS, Really Simple Syndication, is a power tool for any leader who wants to be able to scan the entire internet of all the top content and have in one dashboard so you can be able to really understand what's happening and go deeper as you want to.

There's a tool called Feedly that I mention in the book.

It's the top RSS aggregator.

I'll allocate 20 to 30 minutes per day doing on my Feedly account, identifying.

I have all my categories set up from cybersecurity to business strategy, and it allows me to be able to very clearly intake what's happening.

However, there are timeless principles that we all need to appreciate and to understand that can come from books.

Blogs, I like to use Feedly and keep up on my blogs.

There's podcasts, of course, mentioned my podcast, The 10-Minute Teacher, but there's so many other great podcasts out there.

Just found out my friend, George Kuros, has a podcast called Innovator's Mindset that has several, I think, 20-something episodes now.

And somewhere, I missed it.

So every summer, I actually will go through and rebuild my Podcatcher, which is the tool I use to listen to podcasts, rework my Feedly, things that break the algorithm.

I think algorithm busting techniques when it comes to building your PLN or PLC are very, very important because if you don't, then you're going to get what X or what Facebook decides to show you.

Discussion boards are also a great way to build a PLN, but I would like to mention them in particular for building a PLC in your classroom because when you take a course, very often you will have discussion boards and you want to learn how to communicate that way.

I can get behind this.

Because I had to get rid of Reader 5 because Reader 5 I was using with Feedly and Feedly, my login was with Google.

And then when I turned on enhanced security in Google, broke Feedly.

I can't use Feedly anymore because they don't support Google enhanced authentication, which I found most places don't.

So if you want to use enhanced authentication through Google, it's amazing how many things stop working.

I lost Spark.

RSS feeds collect updates such as news in one place and are a way to find something to read without algorithmic influence.

Choose a tool such as Feedly or InnoReader and then add feeds from your favourite sources or topics.

Not all sites have RSS but tools like Fetch RSS can generate them for you.

However, dodging personalisation means you'll have to put effort into curating your own content.
