Fee-for-service

Number six, and this is one where actually I've had a lot of dentists argue with me on this one.

The best practice to buy is a fee for service practice.

If you don't know, fee for service means that you're not in network with any insurance companies.

Now, some offices that are fee for service, they will help patients to collect from the insurance companies out of network.

But some literally just say, you got to pay cash.

We don't deal with insurance.

So both of those can fit into the fee for service category.

But the reason it's fee for service is when you are taking insurance, when you're in network with the insurance company, the insurance company sets your rates.
