Federation of Old Cornwall Societies

Sorry.

It was a- with someone from the Old Cornwall Society.

Okay.

And we did stop at Roche Rock for a bit, but then he was talking about how they discovered a Neolithic long house also not very far away when they were having to investigate what could've been there before they built the new road.

And he'd been involved with the Welsh and the Breton Bardic movements as such, and he wanted Cornwall to have something, obviously, that was similar.

So he kind of helped with the development of the Federation of the Old Cornwall Societies, and that was founded in 1920.

Now, a lot of these old formal societies, they're still thriving now.

And Wade Bridge here, we got one.

So Jenner and Nance, they worked together to create and establish the Cornish Gorseth.

So I had to do my research a little bit because a lot of this I wasn't too sure on.

But in 1928, the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies, they agreed to invite representatives of the Welsh Gorseth to Cornwall to help them establish the Cornish one.

And that August, 10 Cornish people were initiated as bards at the Welsh Gorseth.
