Federalism

on Constitution Day, and I came across this really interesting essay by a man named Troy Smith.

Now, Troy Smith... is a professor of constitutional federalism, director of the Constitutional Federalism Initiative at the Center for Constitutional Studies at Utah Valley University, and a fellow at the Center for the Study of Federalism, and the editor of the online Federalism in America, an encyclopedia.

I have to admit, I didn't know any of this stuff existed.

Now, the Center for the Study of Federalism has been around for about nine years, so it's relatively recent.

I don't know how many people are involved with this organization.

They don't have much of a social media presence.

Not 2017.

1967 was when it was formed.

You try to play by the rules that are the most peaceful.

In a republic that's based in Constitution and Federalism, you should have the right to step away from a Leviathan, from a conglomerate, from a government you believe has become corrupted if you can get enough people in your... state to agree with you you should on principle of what a republic is yet they will fight it tooth and nail the good news is convention of the states has never been more popular and it is the only way to save the republic in my opinion and i say this to you because right now republican senators are lying to the american people about whether a senator who was the leader is alive or dead.

They're lying to the American people, whether he is capable of anything, of tying his fracking shoes.

And this is a bipartisan issue.

And then when you look at his writings, he writes in very universal terms and honestly also a very smart thinker.

Like I think every Canadian should read Federalism and French Canadian Society by Pierre Elliott Trudeau.

That's like a literal translation of the French text, but I know it was translated in English too.

So maybe it's not the exact title, but like he wrote these essays before he went into politics.
