Fear Effect

Because we have quite a few survival horror games, especially the ones that are tagged as survival horror that might not fall into the genre in the same way.

And I kind of kept falling because I saw Fear Effect and I saw The Uninvited.

I like both those games better.

Yeah.

I think Fear Effect is a more frustrating game than this one, I will say.

It is, yeah.

Some of the save stuff is hard.

It's a tough time there.

I just wasn't here for it.

I'm having, like, flashbacks to Fear Effect last week.

Mm.

Where that had, like, you could just keep rolling, rolling, rolling, just like... [laughs] And it was, like, from side to side.

So you had that.

And then the other one was Fear Effect.

My husband, I think, talked about both of these games recently.

I think we were literally just talking about these like a few weeks ago.

If you haven't dove into them, you should.

Because if you're a Resident Evil fan, Fear Effect especially will actually probably really be okay with you because the only thing that people didn't like about Fear Effect was the fact that it controlled like Resident Evil.

So if you're used to Resident Evil controls, like the walking mechanics and all that stuff, If you're used to those, then Fear Effect is fucking awesome.

It desperately needs more synonyms to describe its attitude to life.

The game is Fear Effect from the PlayStation 1.

Have you heard of and or played? I have heard of it.

I have not played it.

So this game, I vividly remember the... box art for this game, and also its sequel, mostly because I was a 13-year-old boy, and I believe the sequel, Fear Effect 2, which is, is it Double Helix, has two secret agents, I want to call them, or at least they appeared to be, that's what they were, in...

I would say, tight lycra with a low-hanging cleavage, probably, shooting guns.

Normally what we do when we pick games is we go through a list or we have a thing that we want to play.

And for some reason, I really wanted to play Fear Effect again.

So I said, let's do Fear Effect, basically, is

No, I mean, I still love it and I think it's great, but I just think it's, let's do the thing.

So Fear Effect is essentially, it's a game that came out in the wake of the Resident Evil games.
