Proposals are due September 22nd.

Fauquier County, Virginia has issued an RFP to architectural and engineering firms to oversee design and construction administration for a new courthouse building as part of the Fauquier County Judicial Center.

The new 61,500 square foot facility will include five courtrooms, hearing and jury assembly rooms, offices and judges chambers, holding areas, a secure sally port and central holding, and record storage spaces.

The new facility will align with a master facilities plan prepared for the county by Dewberry Architects.

You want to make as sure as possible that the people you're bringing into that program are going to be successful.

It's so interesting to me to watch how you have grown, Charlie, and the fact that as you talk about Culpeper and Orange and I know Fauquier and some of these other places, that they're seeing what's going on and you've got people that you've been meeting some of the needs in those areas and now you're to the point of actually talking to those communities and saying, here's what you need to do to be able to do this because you obviously can't.

In August of 2021, in Warrington, a town of about 10,000 in Fauquier County, the town council quietly added data centers as a permitted use in the town's industrial district, slipped onto the consent agenda, the part of a meeting reserved for routine items approved in a single batch without debate.

On the same day, the council adopted a long-term plan that didn't mention data centers at all.

Two years later, in February 2023, the council used that opening to approve Amazon's 220,000 square foot data center on a 42-acre site near a school and a residential neighborhood.

My grandparents lived off this road, and I had a friend that was there do- a li- little bit further down from my grandparents where I had weird stuff happen there as well.

But I lived in Fauquier County, which wasn't far from Culpeper.
