We're going to try to deal with some issues here today.

on real ag on the weekend i'm looking forward to it we're going to hear today from craig johnston he is with farm credit canada he's their chief economist and i had a conversation with him earlier this week talking about the canada u.s dollar we're also going to hear from kenny pacharka he's the head of kws german seed company he's the head of their north american operation they're very excited about what's going on in the hybrid rye market and the versatility that hybrid rye We're also going to hear some audio today from Jacob Shapiro.

He's a general political analyst out of New Orleans.

We're going to talk a little bit about the Canada-U.S. trade war.

Of course, Canada is an exporting nation, so where the Canadian dollar sits relative to the U.S. currency is a big factor, and also it plays a big role in the cost of imports into the country as well.

I had a conversation this week with Craig Johnston.

He is the chief economist with Farm Credit Canada, and we talked Canadian U.S. dollar.

I wanna start off the show with a topic that I love chatting about because it is the inner workings of the economy, and we are joined by Craig Johnston, who is the chief economist with Farm Credit Canada.

Craig, how we doing?

Hey.

And I don't know, is that, uh, is that a...

If we, if we looked for a mega project in Canadian agriculture to attract investment to, does that need to be through some sort of fund where it aggregates smaller projects and, and doles it out that way? And I guess that's maybe what Farm Credit Canada is trying to do with some of their, their efforts.

Uh, or does, do we have a, a mega project? Would, would, uh, an expansion of the Port of Vancouver or something like that, uh, focus on, on really opening things up there and automating the port, and even just what if we could load ships in the, in the rain, uh, that kind of thing.

Uh, is, is that, would that be the closest thing we have to a mega project? I don't know.
