that it was going to be a success it was a side add-on product yeah and it blew up into the size that it is whereas another game for example in the battle royale genre is fall guys fall guys was one of the most popular games on the planet for six weeks and then wasn't so you just don't know is the is the honest truth and yeah it's it's scary

And the thing about gambling games in particular is that they tend to do well at the start.

And if you can sustain them and if you can retain players, then that's great.

And then the question is whether you can slowly drag yourself out of the trough of death through stickiness and retention.

If you can do that, you have a game that's going to live for a very long time.

If you're not able to do that, Fall Guys being the example, you stay in the trough of death forever.

Well, if it's as successful as Midnight as you talked about there, then you'll be doing well.

Um, so there's that.

Now, one of the things for sure that I'm noticing that I think isn't for me, and this could be because I'm older, is the whole-- they have an entire section dedicated to like esports, like a big place you can sit down and watch like Fall Guys or like these battle royale games, and it's more of an esports type thing, and I feel like that takes up a lot of space that could be utilized for things I'm more interested in [chuckles].

So it's one of those things where because I'm not interested in it, I notice it as a negative, but that might draw in a lot of people as well.

So they're really trying to kind of cater to everybody in that type of nerdism community, and in doing so, you know, there's stuff that's not gonna be for me.

Like you're hiding out in these different indoor surfaces and, you know, trying to match the patterns of the floor, the wall, or, you know, hide deep down under a curtain or whatever, you know, like it's neat.

What's not neat, though, is that unlike other kid-friendly multiplayer games that are on Switch, like Fall Guys, is that when you go in to play this one, all of the party chat stuff is on by default.

Which was, I'm like, who are these other children in my living room? Like, my kids started to play, they're like, yeah, it's five bucks, can we get it? I said, yeah, we can get it, five bucks, let's go.

And then all of a sudden, like, there's like a bunch of kids like chit chat.
