the shower room at Fairfield Halls because we'll try to keep it really quiet as well so I've got a vague memory but you know when you're not expecting to hear a song that's brand new then you completely forget entirely what it's like as well tell us about the creation of this one

Well, I very much with this one got into that.

I think, again, I was working to a track of Guy's and had really kind of got this whole idea of the verse, you know, how I want to go to the verse, but then just really got stuck.

And I did.

Fairfield Halls in Croydon, people were paying to sit on the stairs.

We had two and a half thousand people in there.

It's ludicrous, absolutely ludicrous.

I did, yeah.

Fairfield Halls, you know it.

Born Peckham, moved, family went up in the world, moved to Croydon.

Oh, yeah.

But it was like a thousand people in that place at the time, which is...

When you think about it now, if you take to say to someone there's 1,000 people in an audience going, really? Because at the time, I remember doing Fairfield Halls for Dixon around the same time.

And I remember the boys going, oh, how many's in the crowd? Oh, it's not good tonight.

What is it? Oh, about 1,500.

I remember the halls were packed, right? Yeah, I had a singles match with George Castano.

It went really well.

um yeah and that was like my first singles match with scott and that just kept leaning into bookings and like i said i did fairfield halls i did that with dixon um around the same sort of time um but my first ever match so to speak would have been my rumble with dixon that had been my first introduction in front of an audience and uh on that show And if you've been to the Fairfield Halls in Croydon, it's like you kind of have to go up the lift to get to the changing room.

So I went up to the lift.

There's a kind of geometry taken from those.

And also, I can't remember who the architects are, but the Fairfield Halls from the 1950s, a fantastic festival of Britain architecture.

but it's also referring directly to Durham Cathedral and the kind of on-off syncopation of Durham Cathedral's nave, where you have columns which are...

One set of columns are a zigzag, and then another set of columns afterwards are diamonds and so on and so forth.

The other one is, I keep saying it, Roger Waters in Red Square in Moscow, which I thought was fantastic.

And having grown up, you know, having grown up with Pink Floyd, you know, the first time I saw them was in Fairfield Halls in Croydon, South London.

I think that I think they just released Dumb and Gummer and the ticket price is about five shillings or something ridiculous.

But in terms of Glastonbury, it was the year 2000 with David Bowie.
