Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies

All right, it is my enormous pleasure to welcome back to Bad Faith Podcast, Isabella Weber.

She is the associate professor of economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and associate in research at Harvard University's Fairbank Center.

And most importantly, for our purposes today, she is the author of a new and very important book, Anti-Fascist Economics in Defense of Affordability, Dignity, and Democracy.

Welcome back to Bad Faith

And the reason I brought this up because when I first met Professor Lian Xi, he did not know who Lin Zhao was.

I remember that afternoon we were sitting in the Starbucks next to the Fairbank Center, and then I said, "Can you please write about this woman? I don't even know if I will ever get a tenure track position in this country." I can pass you the context.

I think that was how we as Chinese feel that she's so precious.

She represented all those that we believe and then we wanted to sacrifice and give to, and I want her to be in good hands with a good scholar who would keep her memory and voice alive.
