Fair Park

Participating restaurants all across North Texas are offering special brunch, lunch, and dinner menus from $29 to $99 with part of the proceeds benefiting North Texas Food Bank or Lena Folk.

All the info at DFWRestaurantWeek.com. At Fair Park, it's the Riverfront Jazz Festival taking over Friday through Sunday with a huge mix of jazz, R&B, soul, and blues.

Oh, we've got to build a new stadium.

Oh, we've got to put $380 million worth of Mary Kay products on Fair Park.

There's always going to be an excuse to spend more money.

Then they're going to come up with just the dumbest.

And so we're between these two buildings.

We're out here in Fair Park in a building that's being renovated, closed 14 years, until our downtown location is completely renovated.

So we moved from downtown.

Everything has not been moved from there.

We're out here in Fair Park.

You know, this is a whole different kind of a different experience than what we're used to.

And so we got things in downtown, things stored here, things in a couple of buildings.

So you had to also... plan for that.

The other thing you had to plan for was where the different fun fests were being held, because there was one at Fair Park where sometimes you had 50,000 people gathered watching some of the soccer matches on TVs, et cetera, and you had to plan because you have that amount of crowd of people.

So it was a very intense planning process.

We even broke into subgroups.

So that was another thing hospitals did such a great job on.

was planning for people showing up that spoke different languages because we have interpreters anyway, as you well know, but you just wanted to make sure we had enough.

So you mentioned Fair Park, which for those of you who aren't from the DFW area, Fair Park is where the Texas State Fair is held every year.

And that's just a big thing.

And I remember the next day going to fair park and going, this is, this is no good.

Like we got to figure something out.

It was more than our ticket.

So we published, you know, we, we, we've sent them a lot of, uh, uh, media and stories about what Atlanta did you know eight or ten years ago when they went to fan first pricing where everything on their menu is basically four eight or ten dollars I think is what it is or four eight and twelve um so we work with the city you know those are now concessions are a little bit more in line I think parking for the first trinity season was 20 or 25 dollars now it's 14 dollars so you know the city to their credit has have listened because we've got to make they're a part of the equation right if we have cheap tickets but it's still 30 dollars park it's still not a good experience.

So I give the city credit, give Fair Park credit for working with us and bringing the kind of whole experience a little bit more in lines where people from all over the city, no matter what part you're from, is affordable.

And we didn't want price to be an objection.

And the New Jersey's, especially, I'm a big fan of the away.
