F.C. Hansa Rostock

But before we talk about teams involved in European football, we're going to start in the Dritte Liga, the Saturday fixture.

Hansa Rostock against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

2 p.m. kickoff at the Ostsee Stadion.

Always a difficult place for anyone to go.

I'll be honest, it was a little bit of a difficult picking for me in the Dritte Liga this weekend to find a match.

But this one intrigues me because I think this is a game of two teams with Bundesliga history.

Hansa Rostock, of course, has a strong history in the old DDR Oberliga.

They were the last East German champions which qualified them, of course, for the Bundesliga.

midfielder Kevin Thompson also believes nothing on the pitch looks like a problem for Nadiri amid a fine run of form for the light blue striker.

The 23-year-old Chechya international joined Rangers from German club Hansa Rostock in February for a reported fee of £4.7 million.

He was a slow burner in another unsuccessful campaign for the Govan club, but this season, in the absence of injured big money signing Youssef Chermiti, and captain Laurence Shankland.

Nadiri has recently stepped up for Derek McInnes with six goals in 12 games.

I did.

Uh, I did a little bit of homework when he was at Hansa Rostock when we signed him, and-

That's right.

God, that's why you were laughing and all smiling and all happy-

Um, the responsibility that he's been given, that he's taken, uh, to go and lead the press, lead the line.

Uh, for, for a young man that's, you know...

For all that Hansa Rostock are a, a, a third-tier side, they're a big club, Stevie, and the... [laughs] I, I, I don't want to sit and be disparaging about the Premier League, but it's, I don't think it's that big a, a step up in that regard, um, from playing at, uh, for a team that's playing to 25,000, 30,000 people every week.

So, um, for me, what he's done is...

Especially Rangers were sort of really forced to spend more than they wanted to.

You know, Hansa Rostock, uh, last January were saying, "Listen, we will sell you this guy in the summer, £3.5 million, £3 million, something in the region of that.

But to get him now, we want five." And given the state of the title race at that time, Rangers felt that they had to go out and pay the extra money to get him in, uh, there and then.

And it looked at that point that, have they been done a wee bit here? Because he certainly wasn't looking like a £5 million striker.

I mean, there's only one East German club in the 3.

Liga in Hansa Rostock.

You know-
