Ezra Collective

ain't no tongue can tell The words fill my head and fall to the floor If God's on our side He'll stop the next war If God's on our side He'll stop the next war If God's on our side He'll stop the next war

Ezra Collective, their brand new one, which is going to be one of my top 10 of the year.

It's called Here Because of Hope.

And we heard the tune, Blow Your Trumpet.

when things just hum it's just so breathtaking like these two tracks right now oh my goodness um just under me you were listening to the sound of um Mascolo with Long Time I don't know this one was a bit of like a wild card if I'm gonna be honest with you kind of took a breath from Paris's show with the wild cards but I don't know I heard this on my rotation um over the weekend and I just loved it like I just love how kind of whimsical slash hazy it is but yet like it's got really lovely groove again so down for that and that was great um but yes coming up next I didn't even I didn't even like realize I put this in my rotation until I literally just saw it and I went oh my god And I think everyone will love it.

Obviously Ezra Collective have been doing some tingles these past couple of years.

However, I thought I'd bring this one back from literally God knows when.

I recently received the new album.

And then they've done so many incredible things for the jazz community and the jazz scene in general.

But I literally tapped into this one like instantly.

ages ago and like i listened to it you know when you just have that moment where you listen to a track and you haven't heard it for a hot minute and you're like yo i completely forgot that these two people collided and did a track and oh my god this is still slaps and i just thought it was a perfect perfect track to put within the rotation so if you don't if you couldn't like grasp what the track is going to be um it's called more than a hustler by ezra collective featuring novelist oh

this is gonna be so good

Ezra Collective has a new album out and it's called Here Because of Hope.

We heard the tune Jubilee Feeling.

The song is full of joy and fresh starts and it brings a little bit of UK jazz and a little bit of funk.

wasn't it? Do you have a favourite performance? Do you have a favourite moment from the weekend?

I'm going to go Ezra Collective, 100%.

Yes,

amazing and so good that they recently got that number one album as well.

We got busy with new releases this past week and welcome a bouncing mix of global goodness to share with you.

If you haven't checked out the Ezra Collective yet, you just, just go and have a listen.

They're absolutely fantastic.

What? I mean, I love her.

I think what's interesting is about the kind of even in the UK, like, I've been interested in, like, the Ezra Collective.

Yes.

Who, like, done a cover of Sun Ra, Kokoroko.

[funky music] So let's keep the funky grooves going then, shall we, for your, uh, Wednesday afternoon? With me, Louis Smartt.

Let's get into this, shall we? A lovely bit of Ezra Collective taken off that incredible new album from them.

Such a great album if you've not heard it.

It's called Here Because I Hope, and this one off that very record is called Someday.

[upbeat instrumental music] Ezra Collective.

That was Someday taken off their incredible album, Here Because I Hope, which, uh, actually reached, uh, number one in the UK in the album charts.

I think that might be the first, like, jazz, like, UK album there has been.
