Ezekiel 8

And if you remember, this actually matches the opposite of what we witnessed earlier on in the book.

So in Ezekiel 8 through 11, if you remember, we were given this tour of the temple in Jerusalem and how it was filled with idolatry and people who were worshiping other gods and images of scribbled gods on the walls and just all of this rampant idolatry that God was not happy with and actually caused God's presence to lift up and eventually to leave.

So, now we're seeing the opposite.

We're seeing like an ideal future glorious utopian temple where eventually God's presence comes and takes place.

You'll see how this is all going to go.

Pay close attention to Ezekiel 8.

Ezekiel 8 and verse 16 says this, the Spirit brought me into a temple.

into the inner court of the Lord and I noticed 25 young men with their backs to the temple facing toward the east worshiping the sun.

I want you to see this.

But this is pretty crucial.

So I'm going to read some sections of Ezekiel 8. and 10, and 11.

Starting in Ezekiel 8, verse 5, it says, And behold, north of the altar gate, in the entrance, was this image of jealousy.

And he said to me, Son of man, do you see what they are doing, the great abominations that the house of Israel are committing here, to drive me far from my sanctuary? He brought me to the entrance of the court, and when I looked, behold, there was a hole in the wall.

Then he said to me, Son of man, dig in the wall.

Nothing will be withheld because it is too hard for you to bear.

Ezekiel 8 verse 18 says, Therefore I also will act in fury.

My eye will not spare, nor will I have pity.

and though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, I will not hear them.

It is headed for them.

And we learn why in Ezekiel 8.

And we're given a little tour of the temple.

And this is going to anticipate a later tour of a temple we get at the end of the book.

A lot of discussion about, for instance, the northern coalition of Ezekiel 8 and 39, and the regional alliances described in Daniel and Revelation, the kings of the east, and all of those kind of things.

From your perspective, as you're looking at it, how should this specific modern realignment, such as what we're seeing today, right now, just now being formed, the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement and the Russia-Iran-China axis, how do we look at these things in light of what Scripture tells us?

Well, what's so fascinating to me, Sam, is that for the very first time in human history, we have these geopolitical relationships that bear such a close resemblance to what we read in Scripture.
