private organization for the study of the UFO phenomenon, to say that properly, which is the Centro Ufologico Nazionale, CUN.
P
4:24Paolo GuizzardiGUEST
and i am also um but this is a much newer thing i am the national representative for italy of icer the international coalition for extraterrestrial research which has been founded this 25th of may so it's rather new so for the rest i can tell on a personal note that i've always been fascinated by mystery i mean for me life is a is a fantastic parenthesis in a full immersion in a huge mystery uh whatever however you look at it so um of of these huge mystery or mysteries uh ufology is Well, UFO and ET, the two are the two most important and most interesting for me.
P
5:30Paolo GuizzardiGUEST
And for the rest, maybe it can sound funny but I have never seen a UFO myself not even health UFO so to speak but I mean I know that there are so many many incredible amount of reports which leaves any doubt uh aside so I mean it's not a problem so I don't believe in UFOs properly to speak properly I know that they exist because there are and there's an overwhelming a huge amount of information which confirms this.
P
6:08Paolo GuizzardiGUEST
And this is the position of ICER as well.
P
6:11Paolo GuizzardiGUEST
I mean, the UFO phenomenon manifests a certain form of intelligence.
P
6:19Paolo GuizzardiGUEST
We don't know exactly what it is.
P
6:21Paolo GuizzardiGUEST
It takes a lot of research, still takes a lot of research, but the UFO phenomenon is indeed intelligent manifests undoubtedly intelligence and very likely is of ET origin.
P
6:38Paolo GuizzardiGUEST
So this is my I mean, just a brief general introduction on myself.
INTERVIEW: Neil deGrasse Tyson Talks New Book 'Take Me to Your Leader', Alien Abductions, What 'Intelligent Life' Truly Mean + More
N
21:05Neil deGrasse TysonGUEST
Perfect.
N
21:06Neil deGrasse TysonGUEST
So there's a whole chapter in that called alien intelligence.
N
21:09Neil deGrasse TysonGUEST
I went there.
N
21:09Neil deGrasse TysonGUEST
So here's just...
What Do Scientists Know About UFOs? Sabine Hossenfelder on the Fermi Paradox
G
70:06Gleb SolominHOST
I want to ask one final question.
G
70:09Gleb SolominHOST
Do you think humanity will ever make contact with an alien intelligence? And will we even survive long enough to see that moment? I just want to hear your personal thoughts on this.
S
70:23Sabine HossenfelderGUEST
Yes, totally.
S
70:25Sabine HossenfelderGUEST
So I'm quite hopeful, optimistic about the future of mankind.
Uranus Made Me Do It

But it's this planetary mind The emergence of this planetary mind and ontological governance that's very connected with AI.
W
34:53William StickeversGUEST
And one of the things I'm seeing here is the fact that an alien intelligence is very aware of this transition.
W
35:02William StickeversGUEST
And that's partly the reason why the government has moved quickly towards disclosure.
W
35:10William StickeversGUEST
Because any intelligence watching what's happening now knows that it's only a matter of time before the AI will be able to engineer craft that can enter their world.
W
37:36Walter SterlingHOST
You said that you believe there's an alien entity, an alien presence that is watching this very carefully.
W
37:44Walter SterlingHOST
Would you talk a little bit more about that?
W
37:47William StickeversGUEST
Yes, because any alien intelligence that has the capability for warp drive, you know, for interstellar travel would certainly have AI, have achieved AGI or ASI.
W
38:02William StickeversGUEST
And their AI systems would at some point detect the emergence of our AI system first.
Alien Intelligence, Human Evolution, Dinosaurs, and Science Fiction - Nick Longrich, PhD
A
94:08Andrew HeacockHOST
But I also wonder if we are limited in our ability to imagine different forms of intelligence just because of the architecture of our brain.
A
94:15Andrew HeacockHOST
But I'm wondering if you have any thoughts on like, if there is alien intelligence, do you think it's basically the same intelligence that we have? Or is there, is it possible that there's completely different ways to be intelligent?
N
94:25Nick LongrichGUEST
I mean, people have
A
94:26Andrew HeacockHOST
argued,
N
94:39Nick LongrichGUEST
It's a meme that's popular with the Doomers that like basically this thing you're conversing with is alien and it puts on a human face.
N
94:48Nick LongrichGUEST
And I don't fully understand AI, so I'm not really, like, qualified to talk on, but as I understand, like, the way it operates, you know, like, predicting sequences of text, like, it's, you know, it's working in a fundamentally different way than the human mind does, and it's using not these, you know, neuron networks, it's using Turing machines, which are fundamentally different in how they operate.
N
95:11Nick LongrichGUEST
And so, you know, a lot of people argue that like, we've basically, we've created aliens, we've created an alien intelligence and we, uh, you know, and it's agreeable and sometimes a bit sycophantic and it uses the words we use.
N
95:24Nick LongrichGUEST
So, and it speaks our language, literally it speaks in English.
When Machines Make the Music, What Happens to Hi-Fi?
D
42:05Dennis BurgerGUEST
It's, it's not gonna be robots out there with machine guns.
D
42:08Dennis BurgerGUEST
It's gonna be a much more weird form of destruction.
D
42:12Dennis BurgerGUEST
But the point that I was making, though, is these are alien intelligences that are evolving in an environment that is so far beyond our comprehension that if they could create art, what could it possibly mean to us?
J
42:29Joseph TaylorGUEST
Yeah.
J
42:29Joseph TaylorGUEST
Yeah.
