Experimental music

I mean, we had to find each other, and we did.

Um, there was a, you know, now defunct, long defunct, um, group of us, and we- Had a horribly named Ladies of Experimental Music, uh, back in 2000, like, 12, 13, 14 times.

Um, but e- despite the name, we would throw shows and support each other and, um, showcase, um, you know, fem-identifying people and others, um, that were making, um, you know, e- experimental or techno music or just stuff with hardware.

I just wanted to make a shout out for some of the experimental music and avant-garde music festivals that are happening in fall.

One of them is San Francisco Electronic Music Festival, S-F-E-M-F.

And that's at The Lab, the 24th of September through the 26th.

Yeah, what differentiates it from another music festival people might be thinking about?

Well, the Other Minds Festival has focused on experimental music, new music, contemporary classical music, the avant-garde.

And every year they bring composers from all over the world and have a really amazing program of really adventurous music.
