Expedition to Tabuk

And it was dearer to me than participating in the battle of Badr, although Badr was well known among the people in that.

So the Sahabi here is mentioning about his story when he could not go or he did not go to the battle of Tabuk.

And also that he missed out in one other battle, which was the battle of Badr.

And the reason for that is when the battle of Badr happened, Rasulullah did not go to fight.

So Rasulullah implied as if we're going to attack here, and nobody knew where Rasulullah was going.

And then he told them, last minute, that's where we're going.

But Battle of Tabuk, because it was so far, so far away, and desert, and a difficult journey without water, Rasulullah ﷺ told them prior to that, okay, we're going to Tabuk, that's where we're going, that's where we're heading, so the Sahaba could prepare fully, because it was a long and difficult journey.

So this place which is mentioned in the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ regarding Sayyidina Isa ﷺ killing the Dajjal.

And passing from there on the way to Jerusalem, there is another very significant place, again mentioned in the Sahih of Imam al-Bukhari r.a regarding a beautiful hadith where in the Battle of Tabuk, the Prophet ﷺ has this long expedition.

And we know the Battle of Tabuk, there were munafiqeen that didn't go, and they give excuses to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam why they couldn't go.

And this is not the first instant.

They did it in other battles as well.

And you show that to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala by preparing for Ramadan beforehand.

And we see during the battle of Tabuk, the great battle of Tabuk, there were many munafiqeen.

And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in Surah At-Tawbah speaks about the case of the munafiqeen in depth.

And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala specifically says about those people.
