Expedition Everest

I think a great example is recently they had their D23 event and they made a load of announcements.

One of them being that they were fixing a broken element, the Yeti, on their Expedition Everest ride.

It's been broken for 20 years.

And they made this huge announcement about the fact that they're fixing something broken.

We've really devalued the experience by assigning certain rides a monetary value that we're all kind of being pressured to buy into when there is so much more to see and do without it.

I was actually thinking about this while reading Joe's book, just the level of detail that he put into the entirety of Animal Kingdom, even like the queue for Expedition Everest.

It's so extensive and real and thoughtful.

And I'm just breezing past that while I'm on my phone, plunking things out, trying to refresh to get on a ride sooner.

And then I

went on Expedition Everest, which was a real ride.

And that was really fun.

That was a really good ride.

I think I talked about this on the show, maybe Patreon.

And I said how when I was on Expedition Everest and I was going through the tunnel.

I was pretty sure that the Yeti just seemed super dark.

Did I say this on the main show? You did.

And I'm not saying this is because don't get me wrong.

When we did the Muppets thing and we called that out, we yelled it from the rooftops that we called it.

I'm not saying I called this because I think everyone made this point is that we can't see the Yeti when you're going through the tunnel on Expedition Everest.

But now this week they released a photo that they have a bright light in there.

So if that's going to be fall of 2027, summer of 2027, when all of that is supposed to open.

then they won't start touching Expedition Everest until 28.

And if that, if that, the Expedition Everest is due for the same maintenance that they just did to Big Thunder Mountain, where they ripped out the track and then they had to completely replace it.

It's to the point where you can't just keep bandaging it up.

It all has to get ripped out.

But Animal Kingdom is going to wait until they make some money back and they get bodies back into that park and refunding that park before they shut down their other premier roller coaster.

I wouldn't be surprised if once the Americas are open completely, they shut it down and just decide to do it then.

That way they have like an alternative new thing that people can visit while Expedition Everest is closed.

You're picking three and it's just one list, which is great.

and now on to tier two this is where you can pick two rides from this list and so looking back at magic kingdom i suggest haunted mansion winnie the pooh and pirates because these um go the quickest but again um if your kid wants to be on buzz lightyear put buzz in there first right or little mermaid you choose what's best for your family if we're looking at epcot i suggest soren and spaceship earth if we are over at hollywood studios i suggest tower of terror or toy story mania i love toy story mania make sure you get on there and then animal kingdom this is where it's all one list and so i would suggest beginning with your Expedition Everest, that's your largest roller coaster over there, Kilimanjaro Safari, and Navi River Journey, because these will be the ones that go the quickest.

And a couple of things to remember, you can go out of order of your days.

And so you could begin with your last day and start with those lightning lanes first, slinky days.

So are you looking forward to any of these items? Actually, Boston Cream Pie does look rather solid.

Moving over to Disney's Animal Kingdom, the Disco Yeti effect has been replaced by a bright new light on Expedition Everest.

The Yeti inside is now more visible after a lighting change at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

As we know, the Yeti has been in B-mode since its early days due to a cracked foundation and nicknamed the Disco Yeti by fans due to the flashing lights used to give the static figure the illusion of movement.
