Just as the priests ministered before God in the sanctuary, and the high priest entered each year into the most holy place on the day of atonement, Jesus, our great high priest, has entered into the presence of God the Father on our behalf, bearing our names just as the high priest of old bore the names of the sons of Israel on the breastplate of judgment over his heart.

These men were ordinary men.

The sacrificial and priestly system, particularly as we read in Leviticus, addressed a very, very basic question.
Jorge de CamposGUEST
1:14
How could sinful human beings approach God, holy and righteous, and obtain forgiveness? And so God established various elements i'll highlight a few yeah of particularly noteworthiness one was a sanctuary which was a designated place where god's presence was manifested among israel and we see that in exodus 25 then there were a number of sacrifices there were offerings associated with basically atonement and forgiveness and we see that in leviticus particularly around the first few chapters of leviticus and then we had priesthood priests appointed to represent the people before god we could easily refer to exodus 28 verse 1 where god appointed the priesthood through The Levitical priesthood through Aaron.
Jorge de CamposGUEST
2:28
And then there was a very important annual day, a holy day, the Day of Atonement, which is an annual occasion when the high priest entered the most holy place with sacrificial blood to make an atonement.
Jorge de CamposGUEST
2:47
And we read that every year during the Day of Atonement in Leviticus 16.
