There's these, these are, these are grassroots Events that are, are handled by members of the community in their own little cities across the country where they get together and they play either weekly or they have even bigger tournaments that happen, you know, semi-regularly, and they turn into, like, the annual fighting game tournaments that we know today.

Like, Evo started in 1996.

Evo's been around forever in terms of video games growing out of these, like, local events put on by just regular degular folks that live down the street from each other.

It is so bonkers because after we, like, scheduled this call, I wanted to try to find one of these, and I was like, "I'm sure there's some in LA obviously, but, like, there can't be that many nearby." There is one in the building across from the movie theater that I help-

It really depends on what you like.

Go through the list of fighting games, watch an Evos, look at the, the diversity of games that they have there, and pick the one that you like, and I guaran-goddamn-tee you that they will have a community that will just throw resources at your feet.
