Everett AquaSox

Everett businessman John Carswell says he's putting together an ownership group to bring a USL League One soccer team to the planned Everett Outdoor Event Center, the place that's gonna be the multi-sport stadium.

And, uh, there's some motivation because of the AquaSox, the minor league baseball team that they're teaming up with, uh, is getting dinged big money for the, uh, the standards it's not meeting for MLB's new minor league, uh, regulations.

Yeah, we talked about this, uh, this plan to build a stadium, and I think maybe the AquaSox are the driver of this, the real impetus behind figuring out a way to, to build this event, uh, center which would be a stadium for the AquaSox.

But then of course, why not? If we got a brand new stadium and we can get the configuration right, why wouldn't we put a, a soccer team in there? Soccer's pretty hot right now.

Don't know if you know that.

Look at all that e- or empty outfield space there, Rob.

Like, that's just not ideal.

However, if it means a new pro team gets off the ground, and if the people behind this effort, the, the Carswell, the AquaSox people, whoever, are really committed to soccer in Everett, let's go.

Okay, yeah.

So we got Aqua Sox, 66ers, Travs, and the Rainiers.

Darn.

Darn.

I've been a guest on it a few times, and Taren Kovacs has been a guest on it as well.

Brian is a great guy and a great advocate for Seattle sports, and specifically the Everett Aqua Sox.

His brother Mark passed away recently, and Brian sent a note saying that his brother Mark really liked this show and a lot of shows just like mine.

Well, Brian, I appreciate that, and I appreciate that your brother was a listener.

We've got Edmonds.

And then we have, of course, Everett Aqua Sox and the adjoining forces and running a really good camp to finish off the summer.

And, by the way, Bryce Miller and Colt Emerson are going to be hosting their very own camp.

I hope you can join us at the NextGen Baseball Summer Camp.

So pretty easy call there for the Midwest League.

In the Northwest League, Felden Celestin of the Everett Aqua Sox is the MVP there.

Pretty young for the level, 21 years old this year, but he led the circuit with a 314 average, 409 on base, and 943 OPS.

His 534 slugging percentage was second, just one point behind the leader.

...

I bought a Everett Aquasox hat in Hoover, Alabama a year.

But they sold Major League teams', n- not all of them, but like logo baseballs.

Yeah.
