But it's been thirty-six years since one of Australia's most heartbreaking unsolved cases.

Three indigenous children, Clinton Speedy Durrou, Colleen Walker-Craig, and Evelyn Greenup, disappeared from Bowraville on the New South Wales Mid North Coast.

Now, police have returned to the area this week, making another push for information.

But the families say that after more than three decades, they're still being let down by the investigation.

A case that changed me as the way I approach policing, but also changed me as a human being was the murder of three Aboriginal kids at Barraville on the mid-north coast of New South Wales.
