Evangelicals and Catholics Together

That's not what faith is, but we do see people who go out on faith like Jonathan earlier when he says, who's to prevent the Lord from saving by few or by many? So two guys go and take a whole Philistine garrison.

So it kind of is balanced, but then how do you know if your prudence is compromise? One thing that popped into my mind was that in the 90s, there was this movement called Evangelicals and Catholics Together.

And they were gonna say, we're gonna bring it all together and unite the body of Christ.

And we have more in common than we have apart.

And hey, he was in the Nixon White House and he gets saved in jail and a great industry.

And then Bill Bright's the founder of Campus Crusade.

And they both say, no, no, no, we need to be with evangelicals and Catholics together.

We need to bring it together.

The term is syncretistic.

And I think it is akin to the Evangelicals and Catholics Together movement.

Here's how I always think about when denominations that have been historically set apart.

In other words, we don't agree.

If you neglect the gift of God, which is salvation by faith alone, and try to get there through your own works, to lift yourself up by your moral bootstraps, all you're going to do is land in hell.

So when I was in seminary, in the Protestant seminary, there was an ecumenical statement that came out called Evangelicals and Catholics Together that affirmed all these things we have in common.

But it skirted this doctrine of justification and the imputation of Christ's righteousness.

All of my Protestant seminary professors hated it.
