If Matt LaFleur isn't a drafted and developed top coach, if he doesn't cultivate a culture – that actually allows players to develop.

Why are we so high on Evan Williams? right? Matt LaFleur is responsible for creating the environment to develop him into the player that he is, right? How about Edger and Cooper? You know, we're all raving over Cooper.

Now, Cooper had a bad game last night.

There's no denying it.

There was one play where he's kind of starting right, has a very slight juke to the left, sends Zaire Franklin flying.

Another play, I think it was the, um, 55-yard run, where Bijan has just the ever so slightest move, like he's gonna go through the, the B or C gap or whatever it was, and that just gets Evan Williams to bite down a little bit, and then Bijan kicks it outside, and Evan Williams' angle's terrible, and there he goes.

That is an elite running back.

And I asked Matt LaFleur after the game, "How much does missing Josh hurt this running game?" And he said, "That's a dynamic running back over there.

I didn't hate the play call against the Vikings either.

It's just a lack of execution, that's what it is.

And then the miscommunication on the Austin Hooper touchdown, we were watching up in the press box when Zaire Franklin and Xavier McKinney and they're, they're frantically communicating right before the snap and shifting, and then Falcons snap, Hooper wide open, uh, you know, W- Evan Williams was on him, but not really.

So just that miscommunication, not knowing the play.

Through two games, Trotter leads the team in tackles and is tied for third in the NFL in tackles.

Number one is Evan Williams of Green Bay, who has an extra game over everybody else on that list.

But you know what we're going to do? We're going to try to put a positive spin on a bad situation, and I'm going to tell you why Trotter missing this week might be a little bit of a blessing in disguise.

Yes, you still have Alex Anzalone out there on that field, but now you are going to have Servasi Adenis and Christian Roseboom each out there taking snaps.

And then the safeties weren't great themselves.

Evan Williams took a bad angle on that 55-yard run for Bijan.

I thought tackling was the primary issue in this one, and not the defensive front.

I think it was tackling from a second-level standpoint.

And the defense was awful.

Evan Williams had 10 tackles.

Zaier had 10 tackles.

They didn't sack anybody.

Yeah, and speaking of the defense, obviously no Micah Parsons, but some names are popping that you've needed to pop.

Lucas Van Ness, Edrin Cooper, Jevon Bullard, Evan Williams, to name, you know, four key guys that people-

... expected to make impacts.

With Gannon, it's the opposite.

It's those guys are moving around constantly, disguising constantly, and then on top of that, you don't know where they're gonna be, which, you know, different strokes for different defensive coordinators.

But I'll say this, Evan Williams loved playing for Jeff Hafley.

I mean, loved Hafley.

So I wouldn't touch that.

Evan Williams is an excellent pull.

I didn't mention him because, you know, most people know Evan Williams.

100% of snaps both weeks, seven, eight tackles.

That's an excellent one.
