European Systemic Risk Board

Long before FISMA, he played a central role in the creation of the euro itself and in steering solutions through the euro crisis.

At FISMA, he's led the charge on the banking union, the capital markets union, the savings and investments union, sustainable finance, digital finance, sanctions policy, while also representing the commission on bodies like the Economic and Financial Committee, the Financial Stability Board, and the European Systemic Risk Board.

But today isn't really about the policy files, though we'll talk a little bit about that.

It's about the person behind them, what it's actually like to step away after a career this consuming, what he's most proud of, and what on earth he's going to do with his mornings now.
