They're in trouble, that's for sure, Ben.

And rugby league news? We're told the ARL commission is on the verge of sealing a rescue package to save the UK Super League worth nearly $60 million.

There will be a phone hookup tonight with Peter Volandes and English bosses with a view to clinching one of the most important deals in international rugby league history.

The NRL has explored this prospect for about a year now.

Negotiations ongoing.

Things, though, are coming to a head.

Ten of the 14 clubs in the Super League are supportive of this package.

It's a five-year deal.

One, because those two sides clearly are two of the top sides in the world at the moment that you would expect to get to the semifinals of the Champions League at the very least.

And then the other thing which sort of struck me about that is that one of the things that this sort of expanded Champions League or revised Champions League has the capacity of doing is sort of throwing up some of these sort of quite one-sided matches, which if you are a proponent, sort of an evangelist of a future potential European Super League, These are the kinds of results you would use as the basis for your argument.

Yeah, they would be the business case by which the proponents for the European Super League would try and justify what they're going to do.

I mean, Barcelona have got off to an incredible start this season.

They are so easy on the eye.

Luton and Stevenage have got one of these this week.

On a night when there's Champions League as well, which I don't understand, but then I don't pay attention to that ridiculously bloated European Super League that they've created that everyone thinks they shut down.

First weekend of the Premier League in 1992, the first weekend of the, in quotation marks, Premier League, when, you know, a whole new ballgame.

The first nine fixtures were all Saturday three o'clock.

I, I do think that Roma should win against Fenerbahce, uh, respectfully.

So that's an amazing opportunity for players that were never gonna get Super League minutes for their-

In Syracuse, what has happened, and I think this is a microcosm of cities and, and, and regions where college is the dominant sport, where there isn't a pro faction.

I think that if you're not in the elite, meaning the Big 10 and the SEC, and soon to be the Super League, w- I call it the riffraff.

And what happens is your expectations just get so poignantly lower that it just becomes a loyalty thing.

I, I watched that New Hampshire game.

I mean, did, did anyone not watch Michigan-Central Michigan, uh, on Saturday night because of the transfer portal? No.

Everybody's watching.

So college football has bigger, uh, goals, and that's, to me, the creation of that super league.

And then what's gonna happen is you're gonna have the super league, you're gonna have the riffraff league, and then you're gonna have the rest league.
