European Curling Championships

2 Cuddling Hardy over the moon as Scots claim gold at European Championship, report by Lauren McDougall.

Grant Hardy claimed his fifth European title and his first as a skip after Scotland came from behind to PIP Italy 6-5 in yesterday's European Curling Championship final in Ostrava.

Hardy's previous four goals were won with Bruce Mowat's rink, which he left this summer, but his new team has gelled so quickly that yesterday was their third final in just four tournaments together.

Stefano Spiller's Italian squad had handed them a rare 6-5 defeat in Saturday morning's group game, but Scotland reversed that scoreline in the final, despite conceding two shots at the opening end.

Uh, so, uh, Because two pools of six, right? With eight in games.

And I think it's the no direct line from the Euros, right? So the Euros started.

Is that right?

I thought I saw that.

it's very disappointing it used to be a fun event to pay attention to and look forward to and i don't know maybe we'll get back to that point but this one just feels like a bit of a dead

Yeah, and I got a picture from the Ostrava Curling Club and it looks pretty bare bones.

I don't think that's where they're playing the European Championships, but

maybe.
