Young people are unable to buy a home everywhere.

If you look at the latest Eurobarometer data, more than 50% of people who live across European cities as a whole consider housing to be an immediate and urgent problem where they live.

And looking across the EU, rents went up nearly 22% in the decade to 2025.

I don't need to tell you that people's salaries haven't kept up with that.

The The EU Observer reports that the European Commission has unveiled its affordable housing package in an attempt to curb the rise in short-term rental properties in tourist cities and increase access to affordable housing.

Some 40% of Europeans see affordable housing as a big problem where they live, a figure rising to half the population in cities, according to a Eurobarometer survey.

Under the Commission, housing plans, local authorities in areas under housing stress can justify restricting the purchase of a house being used for short-term rentals like Airbnb.

Alan Healy in the Irish Examiner reports that Ireland's ports risk being left out of the state's infrastructure funding push, even as the country accelerates delivery of energy and grid projects worth tens of billions of euros, according to the chief executive of the Port of Cork.

When you ask them about the broad ideals of these institutions, they are incredibly supportive.

Like, look at the Eurobarometer data for the European Union.

Fifty-eight percent of fifteen to thirty-year-olds have a positive image of the EU, which is actually higher than older age groups.

That's a crucial point.

And support for the membership has remained very high.

And today, when we look at the Eurobarometer numbers, 67% of Latvians believe Latvia benefits from EU membership.

And 89% agrees that EU member states should be more united in the face of global challenges.

So basically, almost everyone.
