I think I'll start in the east because that's the most sort of interesting at the moment with a continuation of this past weekend's weather.

So that looks like wet and stormy conditions on the cards again today across the goldfields into the Eucla and the south interior as well.

Severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall and large hail are again possible this afternoon about and east of both Laverton and Kalgoorlie Boulder and also down to the south coast about and east of Israelite Bay.

Airlines have increased the number of flights to Melbourne but have also increased the cost with return airfares reaching over $5,000.

So many have instead decided to hit the road to get to the MCG and they're not deterred by the high price of fuel with a litre of diesel like Eucla fetching $3.22 a litre on Tuesday.

There was Let's Go Freo posters from the Balladonia Roadhouse, sticky tape to all the petrol bows, all the entrances, and basically welcoming the dockers, And also I did hear an interview with the owner of the Eucla Motel right at the WA border where they were asking people to bring purple decorations because they couldn't source them from their closest supermarket 500 kilometres away.

So they were asking anyone passing through, bring some purple.

So yesterday, we saw across the Goldfields and adjacent parts some active thunderstorms, um, and that's gonna be the case again today, and I can already see them on satellite east of Esperance.

Now, that's due to a trough in the region with support higher in the atmosphere, um, and those storms, yeah, will continue, uh, throughout the morning and develop throughout that region this afternoon, possible all the way from Newman down to, um, Esperance and across to Eucla as well.

For those about Leonora and Kalgoorlie-Boulder and across to Balladonia, severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, large hail, and damaging wind gusts are possible this afternoon.

Now, that storm area will shift mostly into the interior tomorrow, but it will return to the Goldfields from Friday and throughout this weekend, again, possibly severe at times.
