So exports are going to stay strong here until their new crop comes in.

Most notably, corn yield was lowered by 2.3 bushels per acre, offsetting those added acres.

Now, corn production came in around 16 billion bushels, while ending stocks were tightened by 137 million to 1.7 billion on strong demand.

The government was looking for strong demand.

The trade has been looking for strong export demand.

Well, this week's USDA report may have looked bearish on the surface, but the market told a very different story.

USDA cut its corn yield estimate by more than two bushels an acre, but at the same time the agency added 1.4 million acres to its planted acre forecast that kept production moving higher.
