Ethan Drever

West Coast's number three pick will become pick five.

So Essendon affirming to pick Ethan Drever, a Victorian kid who has risen up the draft rankings a little bit like Melody has with their first pick.

And that leaves Richmond ahead of the Eagles as the one club who might beat them to Melody.

Now, they may regard that as a problem or they might not.

And I think that's where they seem to fit in best.

Of all the players you coached against this year, who was the best? I love Ethan Drever.

What can I tell you about Ethan? Incredible skill set.

Of the players you competed against this year, who's one that really impressed you, whether that be at the championships or through your Waffle League or maybe it was a Colts level or maybe even Elko Cup?

I think probably Ethan Drever from Vic Country.

We played them over at Marble Stadium and in the first half they dominated us and he was pretty explosive out of the middle.

So yeah, that was definitely something that we hadn't come across yet.

And yeah, he's going to be one to definitely look out for in the coming years, I'm

sure.

Pete, Ethan Drever is one of the players who is in the running to be Essendon's first pick in the draft.

Is that right? So there's Dougie Cochran and there's also Cody Walker, but they're tied to Port Adelaide and Carlton respectively.

But again, there's not really a need on the list given our recent drafting history and also future drafting.

I didn't even mention Ethan Drever before, but he may well be our first selection.

If that's the case, I don't even know how we would fit another big body midfielder in the side.

So yeah, I doubt we go this way.

I mean, we're talking about a guy that's, you know, competing.

He's really just off the back of that top group that we've talked about all season with, you know, Gus Teixeira, Aki Butler, Ethan Drever, that group.

I think he's just off the back of that.

This is a guy that can play as a halfback rebounding defender as a runner.

And he's another one that forward or centre is at his best and most damaging.

All right, Ethan Drever's name has popped up off the temper text as a possible number one selection.

I know he's an Essendon fan, but there are also, it seems to be, some similarities between him and, say, someone like a Sullivan Robey that Essendon took last year.
