Esther Rolle

That was an old clip of the show Maud starring the actress Bea Arthur.

And that was the show that actually Good Times became a spinoff from because any of you who may remember that particular sitcom, Esther Rolle played the role of Florida, the housemaid there at Maude's house for her and her husband.

And John Amos made a couple of cameo appearances on there.

And I guess Norman Lear and those people, those producers and whatnot, those Hollywood people, they realized they had something there special with Esther Rolle.

And so henceforth, good times came about.

But that's besides the point that I'm trying to make.

Wow.

So is Esther Rolle from Good Times.

Yes.

Wow.

But the bulk of it we shot in in Toronto.

And I remember we were all staying in hotels, hotel rooms, and Esther Rolle was staying in a room like close on the same floor as us.

And we would go to Dave Chappelle's room and like smoke weed and stuff.

And she came and like knocked and was so mad.

And do you know who Esther Rolle was? She was the mother in Good Times.

That's right.

OK. Yeah.
