Essential Mix

And somehow this ended up getting... votes from the people that go into patreon and uh support the show and vote for the reload thank you for doing that um yeah i haven't heard this track for a second so

i'm going to talk over it because i've got a little throwback pickup for you as well I listened to the Noisia Essential mix on Saturday while out and about in my van doing my normal day job and it fit my route perfectly going down scary country lanes and crazy off beats and then when it kicks off with all the drum and bass towards the end I'd hit the motorway and I was going home I was almost in tears at how good it was because I listened to it to death for years and years and years and then I stopped listening to it I thought I'll

not gonna like that now

it's gonna remind me of too many good things and i'm old now and i've moved on from that it was amazing it was absolutely amazing so i've i've waited for this moment in the show to bake you up for that essential mix i i don't know how it was constructed or which one of you or all of you put it together it's got everything i love about you guys your selection and everything and it stood the test of time really well so big up

What I remember from that period of time is that we probably did it together.

Amazing.

Let's talk about your growth as an artist.

We have to talk about your Essential Mix.

I know it's a rival broadcaster, but it is an uninterrupted two hours of celebration of your work.

You are the previous winner of an Essential Mix 2018, almost ten years later.

How did you approach this time round that was different?

Yeah, that's a really good question.

And I think that like, I definitely put quite a lot of pressure on myself for this one because of that.

And I really wanted to, I wanted this to feel like a very, very true representation of my kind of like growth as an artist, I guess.

BBC Radio 1.

Essential Mix.

DJing since 2009 and more and more producing.

And a little side note is that we have worked together just like around when you were starting to DJ for my music platform, 22 Tracks.

It's the B-side, it's the Deep Drum Mix.

On Saturday, I was driving back from Yorkshire, and there was a classic Essential Mix, which was Paul Oakenfold's world tour in Shanghai in 1999, and he featured the track, and it brought back so many good memories, and I forgot how, how, um, how good the track was, so here it is, A31, Deep Drum Mix.[upbeat music] I can't, I can't go back.

I can't, I can't go back.

You're locked in with Judge Jules on The Global Warm-Up.
