I'm an interventional cardiologist from Oslo, Norway.

We're in Munich at the ESC Congress 2026, where I present the results of the ACASA TAVI trial.

So Akasa TAVI was a Norwegian trial publicly funded where we addressed a key clinical question in our field.

Can we prevent leaflet thrombosis on our new TAVI vials without an unacceptable safety penalty for our patients? We know that subclinical leaflet thrombosis on our TAVI valves have been associated repeatedly with bad outcome for our patients.

I am a full professor in cardiology at the University of Eastern Piedmont in Novara, Italy, and I am president-elect of the Italian Society of Cardiology.

Now we are in Munich during the ESC Congress 2026, where there were a lot of, uh, sessions focused on lipid-lowering treatments.

My topic is the optimization of lipid-lowering therapy in patients with ACS by in- early and intensive lipid-lowering therapies.

We know that the, uh, ARMADA-ACS trial demonstrated that upstream load with atorvastatin given before percutaneous coronary intervention in patients with ACS has been associated to a significantly lower incidence as compared with controls of major adverse cardiac events at thirty days.

Welcome to this meeting here at the ESC Congress in Munich, 2026.

I'm Helmut Piegerfellner.

I'm professor of cardiology, and I'm the past president of the European Heart Rhythm Association.

I'm a cardiologist and professor of cardiology from, uh, the University Medical Center in Groningen, the Netherlands.

I'm here at, uh, ESC Congress in Munich, and I attended a very interesting session earlier about, uh, the case presentation where we discussed how to treat the patient, use the guidelines, and really implement the guidelines into daily clinical practice.

Um, first of all, uh, Helmut Böhmfeld very nicely introduced the case, a very difficult patient of 50, 55 years old, uh, patient with obesity and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and persistent atrial fibrillation, who warrants treatment for atrial fibrillation.

And after the case presentation, uh, Rajka Pakusch from Canada, she gave a presentation what is actually written in the guidelines about treatments of this patient, and she of course mentioned that in the ESC guidelines on atrial fibrillation that were published in 2024, uh, that there is the AF care principles are in there and how to, uh, uh, interpret the data that's presented in the guideline.

I'm a professor of cardiology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in the US.

I'm here at the ESC Congress in Munich, and we've just presented the new fifth universal definition of myocardial infarction, and I'd like to bring to you the key messages from that and hope to help you implement that in your practice.

So the most important thing, I think, about the fifth universal definition of myocardial infarction is that we have really simplified it for the practicing clinician and I think for patients, um, as well.

And by that, I mean we no longer have the numerical classification from the fourth universal definition of MI.

I'm an associate professor of cardiology from the University of Bern in Switzerland, and I'm here at the ESC Congress in Munich, and it's a special congress for us because the first European guidelines on cardiac rehabilitation have been presented here, and it was a great privilege and a pleasure to present it as a chair together with my co-chairs, Maria Beck and Dominik Hansen.

And we had a great, uh, task force, uh, comprised of different people, uh, different, uh, specialties with a wide diversity also, uh, in terms of, uh, geographic distribution.

And this task force also comprised of two patient representatives that supported us throughout this guideline process.
