Eruvin

V'amar Rav, halakha ke-bar zah kadim, va-al ibud de-rabbi Eliezer de-yam shnei kiddushot ze.

Rav in the sense Erubin happens to be, he state-- Though the Amora who says that the Halakha follows, um, the, the Mishna quotes four different zah kadim, four different Talmidei Chachamim who sided with Rabbi Eliezer that Shabbos and Yom Tov are considered to be shnei kiddushot.

Why was that doing in the sense of Erubin? So Gemara talks about the following.

If a person wants to make an Eirvach Tumin, he wants to be able to walk in one direction.

So you can make an Eirvach Tumin, that's okay, but only one per Shabbos.

Bechorot is two months.

Eruvin is one month, and then Temurah.

So in about three, four months from now, we will arrive at a Mishnah in the first Perek of Masechet Temurah where there is the following machloket.

So of course, when it comes to Temurah, right? We've, we, we, we, we learn about Temurah here and there.

What is it about Zichron Toah? What does Zichron Toah teach us about Tekiah Shofar? So the Gemara raises a question in Mishnah, Daf Kamches, it's a very Shas kind of a topic, whether Mitzvas Sichas Kevanah or Mitzvas Eyntel Kevanah.

Gemara talks about it many, many places, in Brachos, in Eruvin, in Toch Echad, in Rosh Hashanah, every-- almost every Masechta in Sefer Moed gets, gets the Sugya stuffed in in some way, shape, or form.

What, what do the words mean? A person does a Maaseh Mitzvah.

Important surah tefach.

So the Gemara in Eruvin, Yod Aleph says you can create a wall even with surah tefach, even though it's gonna...

Right? Each end, each side is gonna be more than three or four tefachim.

Uh, surah tefach could be quite large.

Simon, can I just mention on that, because this is a terrible thing about the Tazo Nish and it's used

He used Otzara Gornim for Eruvin against Rafaim Noe.

And that was...

He used a manuscript of the Rivet when he was dealing with the dateline.

You really find it all over.

But one example which I personally, uh, really appreciate is based off of a Gemara in Eruvin on, on nun daled.

You see, the Gemara says, "Im lo nishtabu luchot harishonot lo nishtach haTorah m'Yisrael." Had the first luchot never been broken, Torah would never have been forgotten from Am Yisrael.

There would have been no such thing as senior moments had HaKadosh Baruch Hu not ordained that the luchot be broken.

And then we learned, however, when a person disregards the guidance of tzadikim, so then they live in a consciousness of what's called meisaris, extraneous matter.

And that was hinted to in the Gemara in Eruvin that “Haloy galui v'chachamim niden b'tsayras sachas.” And we spent a lot of time yesterday speaking about spiritual constipation, having waste in the system, that which is no longer necessary, but that a person cannot let go of, right? And that's the aspect of considering the words of tzadikim ach lei meisar to be extra for them.

So what that means is that you're gonna choose which extraneous matter a person wants to hold onto.

And if the guidance of tzadikim is not seen as necessary, then there are other things that a person is holding onto that are seen as necessary that, chas v'shalom, could cause for a person to be imbalanced one way or another.

He's gonna teach you how to walk mamesh, the essentialist path, what you need.

So once the Rebbe taught us that, then the Gemo- then the Rebbe takes us to the Gemara in Eruvin and says, "If you don't listen to the Tzadik, what's the, what's, what, what are you gonna be? An Amatzveh? You're gonna be an Amatzveh Al Sayer Et Sachas." You're gonna be in a, in a spiritual matziv of holding onto waste.

You g- And, and, and where did the Gemara get that from? The pasuk of the Lahak Harbeh.
