Ernst Lindemann

I was ignored, just as Germany was ignored.

The world only remembers the winners, Lindemann.

We must make sure this time that it will remember us.

So, yeah, we've got Admiral Gunther Lütjens.

when you've got your big, bright cast of characters in The Great Escape and Battle of Britain going forward, you almost have to make the enemy cardboard.

So that's a trend that kind of existed before this, but still continues afterwards.

But it's where we are now, is almost you get these big, grand scenes after the destruction of Hood, where in the film there's this argument between Captain Lindemann, who's the captain of the Bismarck, and Admiral Lutyens, and he's an admiral because he's going to be in charge of more ships once this breaks out to sea.

But you get one of the few ahistorical moments, sort of genuinely false moments in this, where there's a push to retreat back to Norway because Bismarck's had her fuel damaged.
